CUSTOM ORTHOTICS - SHOE INSERTS
WHAT ARE ORTHOTIC DEVICES?
These are custom-made shoe inserts that are intended to adjust an abnormal or irregular walking pattern by altering the angles at which the foot strikes the ground.
They help your feet function better and also minimize stress forces that could cause foot deformity and pain.
CUSTOMIZED ORTHOTICS VS INSOLES
Over the counter "orthotic" insoles are cheap, but the cost to you can be very high. It's important to understand the differences. Customized orthotics provide the highest-quality, most comfortable, and most effective orthotic on the market. Our Park Avenue Podiatry Center custom orthotics are individually designed for your feet, using biomechanical analysis to help you achieve a balanced foundation and stabilized pelvis. Our custom orthotics are handmade for your feet based on biomechanical anaylsis, 3D scans or casts, and your podiatrist’s thorough exam.
Over-the-counter insoles may initially cost less, but they only support one arch in your foot. When only one arch is being supported, it may not maintain the structure of your plantar vault, and problems can start in other parts of your body. In fact, “over-supporting” just one arch of the foot may actually cause pain and symptoms, not relieve them.
Do you experience pain daily?
Maybe you have plantar fasciitis or struggle with low back pain?
Over-the-counter insoles may not provide the relief you need. Individually designed custom orthotics can. For more information, schedule your appointment with Park Avenue Podiatry Center today.
How are orthotic devices made?
Orthotic devices are constructed from a mold of your foot. Rigid orthoses are usually made of a firm material like plastic and are primarily designed to control function. Soft orthoses are constructed of flexible material that help absorb shock, improve balance and take pressure off tender spots. Custom orthotics are $650.
